A massive thank you to all the children and parents who turned up on a very cold and wet Saturday morning to help us plant a natural wildlife hedge along the WildLearning Area boundary. Mr Chadwick, the school caretaker had carefully marked out all the area to ensure that we staggered to species of trees to plant and that they were correctly spaced. We had received all the trees free from The Woodland Trust as part of the Jubilee Woods projects. As a school, we bid for a number of trees and were delighted to be successful!

Planting them along both sides of the boundary fence, over the next five years or so, they should start to grow to form a lovely hedge that will provide both food and shelter for our visiting wildlife.

Each tree was planted with a supporting cane, a protective case around it and the name of the person who planted it!

We had enough trees to do both sides of the fence and we will be planting some of those left along some of the inside boundaries of our WildLearning Area.
