Another big development this week is that Mr Chadwick built our Bug Empire wall… and painted it for us!

This space will become a haven for bugs in the coming months as every pupil will be making a bug habitat and they will all be mounted up on this board, along with some big artwork as well! I can’t wait to see this huge wall of Bug habitat art evolve!

With lots more insect and butterfly plants to plant again this week, we used some recycled tyres for some of them, The soils will be banked up around them and they make an excellent free recycled planter! A big thanks to Atherstone KwikFit who kindly donated the tyres. It was not long before they were being planted up with nectar rich wild flowers that should look amazing in the next few month.

There were still some areas of bare earth to plant and seed and a variety of children from different year groups came out during the day to play a part.

We planted cowslips and primroses along the side of the pond…

… and lots of other wild flower plugs on the bare soil areas…

With a final watering, the seeding and planting in the main part of the area is almost finished. We have a few other tyres to fill and plant up with the last of the butterfly & moth wild flower plugs before we start on some of the other projects in the area next week.
