As the evenings are getting lighter and we had even see a hint of sunshine and some signs of Spring, Wildlife Club headed off to Hartshill Hayes to see if we could see some signs of Spring emerging. We are also going to be working with Iain Green in May and our ‘Wild Wonder’ session is going to concentrate on the bluebells in the Hayes. We wanted to see how they were coming on!

We had a wonderful wander around the Hayes! Lots of exploring going on and we were amazed at how much bluebell growth and celandine growth there was happening. This area is going to be totally stunning in a few months as there are huge amounts of bluebells showing up through the woodland floor.

We also spotted quite a few fungi and had fun posing and exploring in the woods…. in fact we were having so much fun, we almost forgot the time and ended up only just making it back to school in time!

We can’t wait for May to see this whole area carpeted with bluebells… it is going to be quite a spectacular sight!
