Even though the light is fading fast at the end of the school day, Wildlife Club headed to Hartshill Hayes before the sun set It was the last club for this group as a new group will be starting soon.
We took some paper and crayons when we discovered that some children had never done a bark rubbing and 2 of the girls wanted to do some for a brownie badge. A quick lesson in bark rubbing and we were soon looking for and identifying different trees and doing a bark rubbing of each!
Conditions are perfect for fungi in the Hayes and we were soon looking out for and spotting lots around, especially these Two-toned Pholiota (I think!)
We spent a lovely hut exploring and enjoying the lovely Autumnal sights and smells!
Before we knew it, it was time to head back to school. Peckish Bird Food had kindly sent us some goodie bags and we were excited to be able to take home the little activity book, stickers and crayons in a cool bag! We are sad not to be able to come to Wildlife Club any more as we have to make way for a new set of children, but we have all enjoyed spending the last half term worths of Tuesday evenings together!
