The Green Teams have been busy continuing to work on their nest boxes. A massive thanks to Mr Chadwick who cut all the pieces pf wood for us so we could make all of these!

This week, we finished off the sanding and then it was time to put a safe, wildlife friendly wood preservative on our boxes. This one is like an oil that soaks into the wood and helps to preserve it and make it waterproof.

Everyone liked using WildlifeKate’s electric drill as a screwdriver as it was much faster and much more fun than the normal hand screwdrivers! Our nest boxes are looking really good now!

Next week, we will make a hinge to affix the lid and then we can all choose which tree we are going to put our boxes on. We will then keep watching to see if a bird chooses ours to nest in! How exciting!
