Having returned from the Easter holidays, we now have the Summer Term stretching ahead of us and it’s time to get outside in our Grow Zone! WildlifeKate visited all the year 3 classrooms to explain how our Grow Zone works and how each class has responsibility for the different growing beds outside. We went outside and had a look… there were quite a lot of weeds and bits and pieces, so we needed to get all the beds clear, ready for planting!
Year 3 got stuck in and were soon weeding, digging and smoothing the soil.
Over the next few weeks, there will be lots of activity in the Grow Zone and, as part of their topic on Growing Plants, Year 3 will be playing a particularly big role in our fruit and veg production this year!!
If you are a parent / carer / grandparent of a child at Michael Drayton and would like to help us in our Grow Zone over the summer term, please contact WildlifeKate at firstname.lastname@example.org.
